Keep on Truckin'

I took my course final February 25th. So what the heck....I went ahead and scheduled my State and National Finals as well. I felt a little less pressured with this test since I had unlimited attempts, however, I did not want to be the idiot who could not pass. March 14th was the day. It was set. There was no turning back now. My test was scheduled for 9:00, so I got up at 3:00 and went to study some. Then relaxed a bit, then headed to test. This test was required to be in person. I believe I had 180 minutes for this test as well, but I think it had maybe 40 more questions than my course final. Um, yeah. This test took me almost the ENTIRE time. The place was nice and everything, well everything other than the test. No test is nice. But everything and everyone was organized and had things running smoothly. Again, everything except the test, that it. I swear I was trying to remember questions so I could know what to study later for when I had to retake it. Horrible I tell you. Just horrible. I prayed every step of the way, and even the steps in between, on the way to the front desk. The desk that held my destiny. Okay, okay, not really, but it did hold my results. On par with my life at that moment, the lady could not have been any more sour. Thank goodness she was not there when I came in. She hands me my paper. FACE DOWN. So, as I'm shaking, I flip it over. I'm scanning the entire thing looking for a percentage. I finally see the word PASS. That's it. No explanation. No nothing. So I ask her, "Does this mean I passed?" "If that's what it says." Gee thanks. I turned and walked out.

No lie, I could not believe it. I was thrilled I had passed, but to be fully honest with you, I was dying to know what I had made. I know, it matters none, but for me, I just wanted to know. But it was over and I was relieved. Of course I immediately called Jason but the first place I went was to VHECH to tell my Luna Tuna!!!! Poor Phoenix had to wait until he got home to find out.

Oh-did I mention I was doing all of this without anyone other than Jason, Phoenix, Luna, Danny, and Jennifer knowing (for the the most part)? I did not tell my parents, siblings, friends, no one. The kids did not tell a sole either. I was so proud of them for keeping it our little secret. Even if it meant having to tell a white lie (that showed me they know the difference between a good lie and a bad lie) occasionally for the sake of their Mama. I wanted it kept on the DL for many reasons, but #1 was because I wanted to complete all my classes and testing before first.

But once I agreed to let them tell my parents, they got them good! It was hilarious. My parents did not know how to respond. They definitely did not see it coming. And of course from there my sisters found out. I had already told my brother so he was in the loop once my mom tried to shock him with the news. I had to quickly inform my parents that I did not want the world to know just yet. I still wanted to complete my post licensing requirements.
